How to Update PowerShell to latest supported on OS

At a PS Prompt type Update-Module. This will download and update all of PowerShell and all other existing packages.

You got to try ISE Steroids - It will be a Wow moment!

I recently needed to start using PowerShell for projects and Googled the best ISE for beginners and downloaded several but I found that ISE Steroids was the best. http://www.isesteroids.com I like most use examples from Googling and sites I use a lot. ISE Steroids has a bar and tab PSSharper that gives you suggestions on  Errors, Warnings, Shortings, Performance Issues, Suggestions, Tasks, Compats, Infos, and Ignored Rules. I was so surprised that a lot of the examples from sites I trusted for learning used alias in scripts.  As you can see in the above image PSSharper gives the info for uses of alias. Something else I really like too is the suggestion PSSharper gives you, you can select one and it takes you to that line and you take the suggestion that it offers oh and for the entire script.
