Backup software that can restore to another VM format

There are several enterprise backup software solutions available that can backup a virtual machine (VM) running on VMware and restore it as a converted Azure VM. Here are a few options:

Veeam Backup & Replication: Veeam is a popular backup and replication solution that supports VMware VMs and provides seamless integration with Azure. It offers features like image-based VM backups, instant VM recovery, and the ability to restore VMware VMs as Azure VMs.

Commvault: Commvault is an enterprise backup and recovery software that supports VMware VMs and provides functionality to backup and restore VMs to Azure. It offers features like deduplication, data compression, and application-aware backups, making it suitable for complex environments.

Azure Site Recovery: While not a traditional backup software, Azure Site Recovery (ASR) is a disaster recovery solution provided by Microsoft. It can replicate VMware VMs to Azure and allow you to restore them as Azure VMs in the event of a disaster. ASR provides both backup and replication capabilities, making it a comprehensive solution for VM protection.

Zerto: Zerto is a disaster recovery and data protection platform that supports VMware VMs and enables seamless migration to Azure. It provides continuous data protection, near-zero RPO (Recovery Point Objective), and automated failover/failback capabilities, allowing for quick VM recovery in Azure.

These are just a few examples of enterprise backup software solutions that support backing up VMware VMs and restoring them as converted Azure VMs. It's important to evaluate each solution's features, compatibility with your infrastructure, and pricing to choose the one that best fits your requirements.
